Having an author visit to school is a wonderful opportunity for students, teachers, and families in your school community to realize that authors are real people with real jobs. It can help students see the importance of reading and writing and rekindle a love of books and reading.

Stephen Swinburne
Our students were treated to two days of enjoyment, entertainment and inspiration as writers under the tutelage of author Steve Swinburne. We want to thank Steve not only for his work with the students, but also for his presentation at Community Time. In talking about where his writing ideas come from, Steve gave the parents a clear picture of what his student workshops look like. The responses from the students indicated that they learned and remembered many facts about nature. Every child is a potential author, and Steve may very well have made a life-changing impression on any number of our students.
